BIOGRAPHY
Thomas Milovac (b. 1997) is a bassist, composer/improviser, bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, and visual artist. He is the leader of various projects including the Thomas Milovac Quartet, the Lustre Trio, Moon Rays, and the Thomas Milovac Large Ensemble.
He is also a regular member of Ulysses Owens Jr's Gen Y and Big Band, Kristen Warren & Creek, John Lumpkin and the Covenant, and the composer syndicate Madre Vaca. Thomas also regularly collaborates with artists ranging the musical spectrum including: Ryan Devlin, Jonas Van den Bossche, flora flora, Zach Muth, Johnbern Thomas, and JK and the Contraband. In addition, he has appeared on stage with artists such as Kurt Elling, Steve Swell, Sean Hamilton, Wayne Escoffery, Dominick Farinacci, Christian Tamburr, Zoh Amba, and Renee Baker.
In 2021, Thomas started Cosmo Sonic Collective, a record label focused on releasing improvised music. CSC also organizes concerts in central Florida.
In 2021, Milovac was given the special superlative award "Best Team Player" by the Orlando Weekly in their yearly "Best of" awards for his work in the city's music scene. In 2025, Thomas appeared in the viral Youtube video "Jazz Band Covers Nirvana On The Spot" with Ulysses Owens Jr. and Gen Y on the Musora channel. He also starred in and performed on the soundtrack for the independent film "The Tasty Way" by director Doug Lowell in 2025.
He is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but is now based in Orlando, Florida.
